FAQs

Why is First Citizens Bank changing the name of SVB Global Fund Banking to First Citizens Fund Banking?

First Citizens Fund Banking reflects our evolution as a division of First Citizens Bank, one of the top 20 U.S. banks by assets. Consolidating under the First Citizens brand creates stronger long-term brand equity and a simplified “one stop shop” client experience. Everything that defines our fund banking practice: our team, our products, and our commitment to the private equity and venture capital ecosystems, remains exactly the same.

The name is changing. The experience isn't.

What does the name change from SVB Global Fund Banking to First Citizens Fund Banking mean for private equity, private credit, and venture capital fund clients and prospects?

For clients and prospects, the transition to First Citizens Fund Banking means no disruption to your banking relationship. Your dedicated fund banking team, capital call lines, NAV loans, cash management, and foreign exchange services, etc. continue without change. No action is required from clients at this time. First Citizens Fund Banking will operate with the same products, the same team, and the same commitment to the private funds industry

When will the name change to First Citizens Fund Banking be complete?

First Citizens Fund Banking will officially launch in Q4 2026. We are announcing this change in advance so clients and prospects have ample time to understand what's coming. As we approach the transition, you can view updates in our Newsroom. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to your SVB relationship team. The SVB Global Fund Banking platform and all client services will be fully operational until the transition to the First Citizens Fund Banking platform is complete.
